Counselling is a relationship. A safe place where the beautiful complexity of you is seen, heard and honoured. Life can get messy and sometimes we are too.  I will meet you where you are with respect and compassion and we will go wherever you need to go together.  I've trained in many modalities and my practice is largely based on humanistic and transpersonal models of psychotherapy.

I'm also a lover of wild open spaces if you'd prefer to meet outdoors. Some of the best conversations of my life have unfurled along a hiking trail, by a river or sitting with a tree. The natural world has wisdoms to share and wants to weave us back home too.

women's rites of passage

I walk with women as they meet life’s rites of passage. The stories around our menarche, motherhood and menopause hold an often unrecognised power and are a source of profound opportunity. While I walk with women of all ages, I work most often with women experiencing perimenopause and menopause. This is a time when many of us are renegotiating intimate partnerships and our role as a mother. For many of us, it may coincide with greater responsibilities in our career or the urge to move in a new direction. For some, the needs of our aging parents may be emerging or we may be processing the illness and death of our elders. Depending on how these factors play out in our lives, we may be feeling excited about recovering some lost freedoms or we might be feeling lost, confused and commonly, physically and emotionally exhausted. As a post menopausal woman I stand on the threshold of elderhood. I’m a keeper of stories and I tend a safe hearth for you to share yours.

circles, ceremony and workshops

In circle you are held and heard. Regularly sitting in circle with a group of women over many years, I’ve seen the power of sharing our stories in a safe container. Of holding all of our rites of passage as sacred and tending to the wounds where they were not - at our first menstrual bleed, pregnancy and birth, motherhood, menopause and eventually our transition to elderhood. I have seen the potential for transformation as part of a loving village where each of us is fully seen and woven in. My practice is grounded in this experiential and embodied teaching.

I hold regular community circles and facilitate the School of Shamanic Womancraft's ‘Autumn Woman, Harvest Queen’ and 'Winter Woman, Bone Wisdom' workshops to honour and prepare for the wise woman years of menopause and elderhood.

All humans who identify as women are welcome.

deathwalking and end of life care

Honouring our rites of passage, from Maiden to Mother, from Maga and to Crone, sows the seeds for a deep and rich elderhood and prepares us for the final rite of passage that is Death. I feel strongly that our culture must meet death and dying with more courage so that we can support our loved ones to die well and for the living to find safe spaces to honour our grief. In my work as a death doula, I support families to have more open conversations about this final rite of passage, assist with end of life planning and encourage the creation of personal ritual and ceremony. For those that remain, I offer ongoing support as you navigate your way through the grieving process.

I hear lots of stories as people prepare for life’s final rite of passage. It’s a rare gift to listen to people reflecting on their life as it comes to an end. For many, this is the first time they have told their story to anyone. It’s an opportunity to see how all of the threads dance together. Speaking it aloud is often the catalyst that enables us to meet death peacefully, with grace and dignity. But what is most important to me in this work is encouraging all of us to consider how we want to live. To identify what means most to us in this final rite of passage. Each of us has that opportunity every day, in every moment. You are writing your story with every breath.
